4 Bucket List Islands

Scattered across the oceans and seas are 4 bucket list islands. All of them are missing only one thing... you!

1) Capri

I've yet to met a person who has visited this island and hasn't been changed by it; all who set foot upon her shores fall hopelessly in love with Capri.

One mistake that a lot of people make is to think that you can come over for the day.  Yes, physically you can but you lose so much by doing that. Staying a few nights on the island means you get to really experience the magic and enchantment of Capri once all the day-trippers have left.

If you do want to spend a few night my advice is to splash out on something special and unique, something you'll remember for always... a few nights at the Caesar Augustus.

2) La Digue

The most beautiful island in the vast Indian Ocean. This island may be small but it isn't like one of those islands in the Maldives with a handful of palm trees and lots of sand. No, it isn't like that at all. Yes, you've beautiful beaches and warm tropical seas but you've much more than that - you've soaring hills covered with forests like those of the Garden of Eden and lots of tiny lanes to explore by bicycle (no cars are allowed).

Cycle from beach to beach, enjoy lunches of seafood that were it any fresher it would still be swimming in the sea and end the day with a cocktail as the sun sets in paradise.  Base yourself at Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie and discover all the island can offer here.

3) Zakynthos

The island's famous Navagio beach, included in our list of the top eight beaches in the world, is reason enough to visit Zakynthos. Combine that with the beautiful scenery on an island known as Greece's "Emerald Isle" and a warm Grecian welcome and you have an island deservedly at third place on our bucket list islands list. Here is more about the island.

4) Bora Bora

For many people the name Bora Bora immediately calls to mind images of a typical island paradise and that is exactly what Bora Bora is - a paradise island.

The sunsets here are some of the loveliest you'll ever see and whether you just want to relax on a beach or snorkel with the cast of Finding Nemo you'll find the stresses of modern life mysteriously vanish a little more with each and every day on the island. After a week you are so relaxed that just the thought of returning back home exhausts you.

So, if you could do with a lot of stress relief, then here's all you need to know about Bora Bora.
